Trekking Pin Valley – Bhaba Pass (4890m)

Easy 4-days’ trekking from the Tibetan to the outer Himalaya. In 4 – 5 hours’ walk per day you trek from Pin Valley across Bhaba Pass to Kinnaur. In Bhaba Valley you can meet shepherds from Kinnaur and spend the night at the summer grazing grounds of Mulling. Bhaba Valley’s rich vegetation forms a striking contrast to the dry Tibetan Himalaya.

Trekking Pin Valley - Pin-Parvati Pass (5300m)- Kullu

On an 8 – 9 days’ trekking tour (5 -6 hours per day) you hike from Mud in Pin Valley to Manikaran (Kullu Valley) in the outer Himalaya.

Physical fitness, acclimatization and experience in rocky terrain are required for the crossing of the Pin-Parvati Pass (5300m) on the third day. Your luggage will be carried by local porters, who can earn some extra money like this.

Parang La Trekking (5600m) From Spiti to Ladakh

7 to 9 days’ trekking depending on the condition and the wishes of the participants. In a rocky mountain landscape you cross deep canyons and a glacier on the way from Kibber in Spiti to Tso Moriri Lake on the Indian Changthang, the westernmost part of the Tibetan plateau. Fitness, acclimatization and experience in mountainous terrain are required as you cross Parang La (5600m) on the 4th day.

After descending from the pass the route follows the uninhabited and barren valley of the Parechu. Shortly before the Tibetan border the route leaves the river and enters the wide and soft plain of the Changthang with Tso Moriri (4600m). You approach the destination of Korzok along the lake shore with a grand view on several peaks above 6000m. There is a nomad camp near Korzok where you can spend the night with a family in a traditional yakhair tent.

Ladakh: Markha Valley Trekking

After acclimatizing in Leh for 3 days and visiting famous monasteries, we start the 7-days’ trekking tour of intermediate difficulty. You will be on the way for 4 – 5 hours per day. The route leads you through deep gorges and passes green fields and numerous stupas. On the 6th day we will cross Zalung Karpo Pass (5200m). As my guides and me also speak Ladakhi, we can get in touch with the local people. Overnight stays will be in tents or local guesthouses.

Ladakh: Rumtse – Tso Moriri Trekking

After your arrival in Leh you can visit famous monasteries for 2 – 3 days: Alchi, Lamayuru, Hemis and Thikse, and also Shey and Leh Palace. After acclimatizing like this you will be driven to Rumtse on the national highway, from where we trek for 9 days onto the Indian Changthang. On this tour of intermediate difficulty you cross several passes above 5000m and reach Tsokar, a salt lake at 4500m after 3 days. After 5 more days of trekking, you will have a great view on the nomad camp of Phu, where you can also spend the night with a nomad family. The Changpas you meet will allow you to see interesting aspects of their daily life as nomads. If the conditions are favourable, there is the possibility to climb an easy peak of 6000m under the guidance of a Phu nomad or to go down to Korzok on Tso Moriri directly.
